This episode the guys cover what they have been playing, building and buying as usual, then inspired by the Critical Core game they discuss rituals in RPGs. Not “cast a spell” rituals, but those things you do (or should be doing) before, during and after each session. In “Play it or Slay it” they review DUNGEONFOG, an online map authoring tool that Ty has been trying out.
Ty and Brice recap the adventure that was Nashcon. Then instead of “Play It or Slay It” the guys give their take on their “relationships” with various games. Listen to find out which game is Ty’s soulmate and what game Josh has a crush on.
Another Gen Con in the books! The guys share everything that was the “Best Four Days in Gaming”. We are honored to be joined in-studio by “the Intern” Brice. He and Ty recount their adventures at Midwest Meltdown (congrats Wisko Kings!). Finally in Play it or Slay it we review the storytelling game Icarus.
The Terrible Trio becomes the Fab Five as Aaron Darland and Paul DK from Anvil 8 Games join us to discuss the brand new Aetherium Roleplaying Game. The guys also give a preview of what they will be up to at Gen Con next week. And if that wasn’t enough Ty also attempts the long-awaited growler challenge. Enjoy the ride.
It’s almost here, the golden anniversary of Gen Con! The guys preview Gen Con 50 with their tips for navigating the show and the games they are excited about. They also review an interesting evacuation kit they received from Raxxon Pharmaceutical.
